Dermaplaning is instant gratification: peach fuzz gone, makeup glides, skin looks like glass. But the 24 hours after the blade is when your skin needs you most, because you just removed its outermost layer of protection along with the fuzz.
Right after
Your skin may look slightly pink. That is normal and fades within hours. Rinse with cool water only, pat dry with a clean towel, and resist the urge to touch your face. Freshly planed skin picks up bacteria fast.
The first night
Keep it simple and gentle. A clean, bland moisturizer and nothing else. No retinol, no acids, no exfoliants, no new products you have never tried. Whatever you apply tonight absorbs deeper than usual, which is wonderful for hydration and terrible for actives.
The next week
SPF every single morning, no exceptions. Your skin is more sun sensitive after exfoliation, and skipping sunscreen undoes the whole glow. Reintroduce actives slowly after two to three days.
Make it a ritual
The best dermaplaning results come from consistency: plane, cool, hydrate, protect. Do it properly every few weeks and your makeup will never sit the same way again.
A dermaplaning tool designed around safety and the after is part of what we are building.
